Dr Andrew Carr, Chairman
Andrew Carr was formerly CEO of Amersham Biosciences, executive Director of Amersham plc and a non executive director for a portfolio of European start up companies. He is currently President of Thermo Fisher Scientific Microbiology. Andrew has a PhD in Zoology from the University of Nottingham.
Hans Pauli MA, Director
Hans Pauli is currently CFO and COO of Accsys Technologies, a UK based sustainability company quoted on AIM and EURONEXT Amsterdam. Former CFO of, among others, OctoPlus N.V., and Pharming Group NV, both Netherlands-based international Biotech companies quoted on EURONEXT Amsterdam where he was responsible for taking the companies public and PamGene BV. During a period of 12 years he was an investment banker at a number of organizations including Barclays de Zoete Wedd and De Nationale Investeringsbank. Hans is a member of the Board of Supervisory Directors of the Investment Fund MedSciences II.
Andrew Lane, Director
Andrew Lane is Director of Unilever Ventures Limited, a venture capital firm providing funding and development skills to start-up and early stage businesses with high growth ambitions. Andrew was the co-founder in 2002 of the first fund (€66m). Unilever Ventures is now investing from Fund 2 (€90m). As a Director of Unilever Ventures, he has focused on businesses in Life Sciences, Speciality Chemicals and Personal Care. He was a Director of Pharmakodex (sold to Orexo in 2009) and is currently a Director of Arecor, Spa and Salon International, Iota Nanosolutions and Primonyx. Andrew studied natural Sciences at Cambridge.
Dan Walker, Director
Dan is an Investment Manager at FF&P Private Equity. He joined FF&P in October 2008. His responsibilities include origination & execution of new investments and portfolio management across the FF&P Private Equity funds. Dan has over 8 years experience in the asset management and banking industry and prior to joining FF&P, he worked in the acquisition & leveraged finance teams at Royal Bank of Scotland plc and Singer & Friedlander. During this period Dan completed a large number of UK mid-market transactions across a broad range of sectors, including healthcare, leisure, defense and business & support services. Dan has a first class honours degree in History & Politics from the University of Leeds, holds the Investment Management Certificate and sits on the board of EIS Optics.
